Cold Weather Shipping Information from Rock Tred, Epoxy Flooring Manufacturer

Please be advised that beginning Mid to Late November, when the temperatures dip to the freezing point, our shipping schedule will change to adapt to the weather conditions. As a general rule, we will not ship on Fridays. If the ship-to point is greater than next day delivery, we will not ship on Thursdays as well. This is dependent on the destination. Shipments going South can usually ship on Thursdays. West Coast customers generally only ship on Mondays and Tuesdays. We stipulate to our carriers “Protect from Freezing” on all of our shipments. This simply means that the truck should not sit idle outside in below freezing temperatures. It is, however, not guaranteed. For substantially more cost, reefer trucks may be stipulated. This must be conveyed during the time of order. Our goal of course is to avoid our Coatings from being frozen solid. When Epoxy resin freezes, crystals may form. Bringing the temperature up above freezing may not always “Melt” the crystals. It may take temperatures in excess of 115 deg. F to dissolve them.
